Sultana Scones

Approximately make 16-18

Ingredients: 
800g self raising flour
180g caster sugar 
200g salted butter – chopped into small cubes 
2 tsp baking powder 
400ml milk
100g Supreme Green Sultanas
1 tsp salt 
1 egg- whisked 
Clotted cream 
Jam 

Method: 
Preheat the oven at 200°c. Line some baking trays with greaseproof paper and set aside 
Add the self raising flour, caster sugar, salt and baking powder into a large mixing bowl. Mix together then add the butter and rub in with your fingers until the mix looks like fine crumbs. Add sugar and green sultanas, mix again and add the milk. Mix together to form a rough dough. Tip the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Flatten with your hands then cut into 4 quarters. Stack the dough on top of each other then roll out until the dough is about 4 cm thick. Dip a 5cm round cutter into some flour and cut out the scones. Repeat this again till you finish up all the dough. Place the scones onto prepared trays and brush the tops with the whisked egg. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes until risen and golden on the top. Serve warm or cold with jam and clotted cream.
