Fruit Custard

1 lt milk
⅔ cup sugar (for diabetic friendly version, substitute with ½ cup diabetic sugar)
¼ cup milk
5 tbsp custard powder
1 tsp Supreme Green Cardamom Powder
1 cup chopped banana
1 cup chopped green apples
1 cup chopped grapes

In a bowl, stir together ¼ cup milk and custard powder. Add milk, sugar and cardamom powder to a pot and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once the milk comes to a boil, stir the custard and milk mix and gently pour into the milk. When adding keep stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Stirring constantly, bring it to a simmer and cook for 4-5 minutes or until the custard thickens. Remove from heat and set aside to cool at room temperature. Once cooled, strain the custard through a fine mesh sieve then cover and chill in the fridge for a few hours. Stir in chopped fruit and chill for another 1-2 hours then serve.
