Chickpea Pakoras



1 Supreme Chickpea Tin, drained (reserve the water) 

1 medium onion, finely sliced 

1 medium potato, cut into matchsticks

1 cup coriander leaves, finely chopped 

2 tbsp Supreme Chana Masala Spice Blend 

1 green chillies, finely chopped

1 cup Supreme Gram Flour 

⅓ cup Supreme Rice Flour 

½ tsp baking powder 

Salt to taste 

¾ cup reserved chickpea water 

Oil to deep fry 


Add the chickpeas to a bowl and use a fork to slightly mash them. Add onions, potatoes, coriander, chana masala, green chillies and salt. Mix well then add gram flour and rice flour. With your hand, really mix the flour well into the vegetables. Lastly, add baking powder and reserved chickpea water and mix to form a batter. Heat enough oil in a pot to deep fry. Once the oil is hot enough gently drop in heaped teaspoons of batter. Fry until golden and cooked through. Repeat with remaining batter. 

Serve hot with Supreme Date & Tamarind Chutney.
