350g brown onions thinly sliced
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp oilÂ
1 tbsp brown sugarÂ
Salt to taste
ÂĽ cup waterÂ
1 tbsp balsamic vinegarÂ
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp Supreme Coarse Black Pepper
â…“ tsp Supreme Garlic PowderÂ
300g cream cheeseÂ
300ml sour cream
3 tbsp mayo
ÂĽ cup chopped fresh parsley & extra to garnishÂ
Sourdough toastÂ
Method:Â
Heat a pan over medium heat. Add butter and oil. Once heated add onions, salt and sugar. Stir well and cook until soft. Every so often pour a little bit of water into the onions and let it cook out. Once the onions have reached a deep golden brown, add balsamic vinegar and garlic powder and cook for 3-4 minutes then remove from heat and set aside to cool.Â
In a bowl mix together cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, coarse black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, cooled caramelized onions, chopped parsley and salt (if needed).Â
Transfer into a serving dish, garnish with chopped parsley and cool or at room temperature with sourdough toast, crisps, chips etc.Â
